  • Will anyone be aware that I am receiving psychiatric care?
No, not unless you have specifically directed us to do so in writing. The foundation of a secure, successful mental health treatment is confidentiality. If you are 18 years of age or older, unless you sign a written authorization form that complies with specific legal requirements, we cannot and will not disclose to anybody what you have discussed or even the fact that you are in treatment without your permission.Dr. Salbador and his staff have an ethical obligation to provide client confidentiality and privacy. The privacy norm does, however, have a number of exceptions, which include: Reporting alleged abuse involving elders or children Reporting an imminent threat to the client or to others Reporting information necessary for judicial procedures During your initial therapy session, Dr. Salbador will go over confidentiality in further detail.
  • How might psychiatric care benefit me?
It actually depends on what you hope to gain from treatment, but it is quite unlikely that you won't feel better after you leave. Treatment might assist some clients in resolving a particular issue so they can proceed with greater assurance. Psychiatric treatment can aid in the transformation of the lives and relationships of most patients.
  • How soon can I get my prescription refilled?
Your psychiatrist will typically give his patients enough medication to last until your next session. It is crucial to take your medication as directed by your doctor if you have been prescribed it. Don't take the chance of running out. Please contact your pharmacy and submit your request at least 5 (FIVE) business days before your regular prescription expires if you need a refill. Your pharmacist will fax a request for a refill authorization to your psychiatrist (our fax number is 541-343-6434). The pharmacy needs 48 to 72 hours to process your refill after getting in touch with your psychiatrist. This office is unable to call you directly to inform you that your prescription has been filled because of the amount of requests received each day. Please check with your pharmacist at the end of the business day for the status.  Before a prescription is refilled, patients who haven't been seen in the clinic in the previous three months can be requested to make an appointment. After a prolonged absence and until you are seen, your psychiatrist has the discretion to refuse any refill requests. Drug refills are not available on the weekends, federal holidays, or after business hours. Your psychiatrist will respond to the insurance company's request for prior authorization if it is necessary. Your insurance provider may need up to two weeks to process your requests. The choice of your insurance company to cover the cost of your medicine is not the responsibility of either your psychiatric provider or NW Psychiatry.
  • If I need to cancel, when do I need to contact you?
When you set a time aside for an appointment, you are doing so for yourself. Every effort is made to schedule a time that works with your schedule. You won't be charged if you cancel an appointment with more than 48 hours' notice since it gives us time to find a replacement. However, you will be charged a $250 fee for the missed appointment if you cancel an appointment with less than 48 hours or two business days notice(insurance cannot be billed for missed appointments). Calls to cancel for the following day over the weekends or on holidays are not accepted).
